A book made for Susan Kruse and the Library of Lost Books for the opening of the new Birmingham Library in 2013. Find out more about this amazing project here on the Library of Lost Books website. Susan Kruse and Jessica Glaser also produced a book of the project called Bringing Back the Book.
The book I received, More About Names by Leopold Wagner, was added to the library in 1898, the same year as H. G. Wells published The War of the Worlds and Joesph Conrad was writing Heart of Darkness. Mr Wagner's book has not enjoyed the same afterlife as its contemporaries so I wanted to add some adventure and drama to its existence.
